It looks like Sigma and Tamron aren’t the only companies that have been busy trying to flood the market with new Micro Four-Thirds lenses!
Yesterday, Panasonic got in on the game after announcing the upcoming release of the Lumix G Vario 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6, a compact standard zoom lens designed especially for Micro Four-Thirds cameras.
The lens is jam-packed with exciting features, such as advanced image stabilisation to limit blurring in low-light and tele-end situations, two aspherical lenses to reduce the lens’ size and weight while improving its optical performance, and an inner focus system run by a stepping motor for high-speed autofocussing and video recording.
A nice touch is the seven aperture blades and the circular aperture diaphragm which will give the background blur in your photos an “attractive smoothness” even with a large aperture, as Panasonic puts it.
