After trying the new Leica Summarit-M, the Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f0.95 and the Samyang 50mm f/1.4 on the Sony A7s, our hands-on with manual focus lenses continued when we stopped at the ZY Optics booth a second time to test their new lenses for Micro Four Thirds. We also popped by the Voigtländer booth to get a look on the new 10.5mm f/0.95.

If you’ve been following our Photokina reportage, you’ll know that we were very impressed with the two Zeiss Loxia lenses, but we mustn’t forget about the other interesting manual focus lenses for the Sony full frame system on display as well. Two of these lenses, the Mitakon Speedmaster “Dark Knight” Pro 50mm f/0.95 and Samyang 50mm f/1.4, were recently announced and available to try at Photokina.
Photokina 2014: First impressions of the Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f/1.4 ZM for the M-mount system
One of the new products announced by Zeiss at Photokina was a new lens for the ZM series (Leica M-mount). The Distagon T* 35mm f/1.4 is a great addition for rangefinder users who want a high quality 35mm lens but also a less expensive alternative to the 35mm f/1.4 Summilux by Leica. The new 35mm offers a faster aperture of f/1.4 in comparison to the other two Biogon 35mm f/2 and 35mm f/2.8 ZM lenses already in existence. Photokina 2014: Trying the new Leica Summarit-M-lenses on the Sony A7s
Leica announced a number of new camera and lenses at Photokina 2014. Amongst the new releases, there are the new versions of the Summarit-M-lenses. The 35mm, 50mm, 75mm and 90mm, all of which have the same fast aperture of f/2.4, have been redesigned and improved in performance.
