The third interview we had the chance to hold was with Zeiss product manager, and designer of the two Loxia and ZM lens for Leica, Christophe Casenave. It was extremely interesting to hear him speak about the various lenses Zeiss has designed for the Sony E-mount and Fuji X mount so far. Happily, he also let us try all three new lenses (the Loxia on the A7r/A7s and the ZM on the Leica M240) around the Zeiss stand where there were a few colourful displays. Our first impressions article is now online!

Photokina 2014: Hands-On with the new Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro and more
Update: check out our first impressions article with lots of images and video samples!
One of the most interesting aspects of this edition of Photokina is that most mirrorless systems are expanding their high-end products to satisfy professional photographers, and something they almost all have in common has been the decision to release a professional telephoto lens. Perhaps the new M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 is the most interesting: it is surprisingly light and compact while being the one that offers the vastest focal length range (80-300mm equivalent).

Photokina 2014: Interview with Olympus Europe: selfies, OM-D, lenses, pro support and video
The second interview we held at Photokina was with four Olympus managers, three of whom we’d had the pleasure of meeting a year ago at Castle Leslie: Toshiyuki Terada (Deputy General Manager), Jörn Fandrey (Department Manager, Marketing Communications), Michael Guthmann (Product Manager), and Martina Beckmann (Group Leader Public Relations and Events / Consumer Products Division). We touched upon a variety of topics ranging from the success of the E-M1 since its release in late 2013 to the possibility of video upgrades on Olympus cameras. As with our interview last year, all our questions were answered in great detail and with honesty, which we greatly appreciated.
Be sure to give the interview a thorough read–we think you’ll find the answers very interesting!
Note: the interview have been updated in regards to the Service Plus support. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Photokina 2014: Hands-On with the XF 50-140mm f/2.8, XF 56mm f/1.2 APD and more
Fujifilm is taking an important step with the new lenses it recently announced, and with the lenses that will come in 2015. We are not talking about small and compact lenses but professional lenses with a complex design that can give you the best image quality while keeping size and weight as low as possible. I think that the presence of these lenses is certainly going to help the system take a big leap forward, but many users have also started to wonder whether one of the most interesting aspects of the CSC camera, portability, is at risk. Photokina 2014: An interview with Sony Japan – Mirrorless innovation, new lenses, and more!
No sooner had we landed in Cologne and dropped our bags at the hotel did we rush off to the Sony booth at Photokina to hold the first of many interviews we have lined up for the week. Sony had arranged for us to meet three Sony managers from Japan, Yasuyuki Nagata, Yosuke Aoki and Yoshiyuki Nogami, who graciously took the time out of their busy schedule to answer all our questions in great detail.
Something we were extremely pleased to see was the genuine enthusiasm the managers have for the current and future full-frame and APS-C mirrorless line-up. Here we have a brand that really cares about bringing innovative solutions to the photography world through constant experimentation. In many ways, Sony may be the main brand that is pushing the envelope as far as it can go in terms of technological advancements.
Below we are happy to share the three Sony interviews with you. We hope they answer some of the questions you might have been asking yourself about the Sony mirrorless systems.
